On June 24, 2023, in Nowica took place traditional Lemko Midsummer Feast: Kupala Festival celebrations.

On the night of the summer solstice, the Ensemble ‘Lemko Ring’, under the direction of Dr. Wiktoria Hojsak, presented traditional rituals – dancing and singing.

This special evening can be compared to the well-known Valentine’s Day, the day of lovers.

Our Slavic ancestors paired up that night, and the fire through which they jumped was supposed to guarantee them eternal affection.
