Ivan Čižmár is an ethnographer, photographer, and film documentalist. Born on June 12, 1936, in the village of Sucha, he spent his childhood in the village of Pstryna and has lived in Svidník (Slovakia) since 1965. A longtime employee of the Museum of Ukrainian Culture in Svidník, he has devoted his entire life to documenting the folklore of the Rusnaks of eastern Slovakia. He is the author of several publications on this topic.
