Oksana Savitska’s concert at the Nowycia Foundation — report
At the invitation of the Nowycia Foundation and its founders, the couple Stefaniya and Mykhailo Markowych, the soloist of the Lviv National Philharmonic named after M. Skoryk, bandura player Oksana Savitska, visited the snowy and frosty Lemko region with a solo concert.
The bandura and its silver strings performed by Oksana Savitska sounded like a symbol of strength, memory, and spiritual invincibility of Ukrainian culture.
The concert program consisted of two parts. The first part featured Christmas carols, including the famous Lemko “Teshut tesli z sribla sany” with lyrics by Bohdan Ihor Antonych, a native of Novytsia, as well as the beloved Lemko song “Pid oblachkom”, which resonated especially warmly in the hearts of all those present.
The second part was dedicated to Lviv retro. In this block, Oksana Savitska appeared in a new stage role, which gave the evening a special atmosphere: the artist impressed not only with the depth of her vocal performance, but also with a subtle sense of style, artistry and natural stage charisma. Despite the winter weather, the audience came to the concert from different regions, even from Krakow. Long applause, a sincere desire to talk and take pictures with the famous singer became the best evidence of gratitude for her talent, incredible voice, rich program, warm words and the majesty of her soul.
