We cordially invite everyone to the Nowycia Foundation for a concert by the “Osanna” choir:
November 9, 2025
(Sunday)
1:00 PM
Wonderful voices, tradition, and spirituality all in one — this is an encounter that will touch hearts and transport us to the world of beautiful church and folk song.
“Osanna” — the choir of the Greek Catholic Parish of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Krakow
The choir’s history spans almost 15 years of uninterrupted work, joint rehearsals, numerous performances and concerts, and competitions trips. In 2022, the choir’s first album featuring Christmas carols and pastorals was released, and in 2025, an album was released in which “Osanna” presents listeners with the best songs from its repertoire.
It will include compositions that are part of the liturgy, such as “Iże Cheruwymy” and “Dostojno jest” by D. Bortniański and “Otcze nasz” by M. Leontowycz. You can also hear the frequently performed piece “Błahosłowy, dusze mojа, Hospoda” by K. Stetsenko. The lesser-known, ascetic, ancient Bulgarian hymn “Tebe pojem” also appears.
Particular attention was paid to cantos—ancient spiritual songs popular in Ukraine from the 16th to the 18th centuries. These include “Pochwału prynesu” and “O Preswiata Maty Diwo”, with engaging instrumental accompaniment, as well as “Bohorodyce do Tebe”, “Radujsia radost” and “Kant pokajannia (Kant of repentance)”.
