“Carolers in Ukraine” — Petro Sypniak — invitation
The Ukrainian Home Foundation, together with the Nowycia Foundation, invites you to Przemyśl for an exhibition of works by the Lviv painter Petro Sypniak.
Opening of the exhibition “Carolers in Ukraine”:
January 9, 2026
(Friday),
5:30 PM,
Ukrainian People’s Home in Przemyśl,
Ukrainians of Canada Hall.
The exhibition will run until February 5, 2026.
Petro Sypniak is one of the few Ukrainian artists who has devoted a significant portion of his work to the magic of Christmas.
His series of works devoted to caroling in Ukraine likely stemmed from stories told by his grandmother (or perhaps his parents).
He himself spent his childhood during the communist era, when Christian traditions were banned.
Now, during the war with Russia, the custom of caroling in eastern Ukraine is no longer maintained.
Petro Sypniak’s works are a testament to an important event from over two thousand years ago (the Nativity of Jesus Christ), which became a special moment in human history.
