“Ukrainian Paris” — Volodymyr Makarenko — report
23 May 2026
After completing his studies in St. Petersburg, Volodymyr Makarenko settled in Tallinn. However, he had no opportunity to exhibit his works or support himself by selling them. For several years, he was forced to work as a stoker. In 1979, he managed to emigrate to Paris —the capital of world painting. Only there could he realize his painting plans.
Only 20 small-format works characteristic of his oeuvre were selected for the exhibition at the Ukrainian House in Przemyśl.
